![]() If there wasn't the months and years of hype saying "thou shalt own this for your build", nobody would care. Similarly, hull image refractors is still an ok console, but you won't be able to give an escort a hull value way beyond a dreadnought now with it. ![]() Of the rest, the neutronic eddies console now performs about the same as a host of other clicky consoles, and if they were to go back and finally fix it so that you got the 50% bonus damage to held targets like it says, the Tholian Webspinner Array would be perfectly viable but probably still in line with the rest of the options too. They've nerfed it multiple times before this and never found a reasonable fix to the idea, so they made it useless. Of the consoles that got nerfed last week, only Agony Redistributor really got killed. That leaves time for the meta chasers to build hype around stuff that is overpowered and drives a lot of anger when it finally does get nerfed. Honestly i'm tempted to not even bother finishing this event or playing anymore. The annoying thing here is they've waited years on this stuff to balance it in most cases. They really don't seem to want to actually do ANYTHING to fix the problem. They could move all the old event rewards to the dil store. They could move all the old T5 lockbox ships to the dil store. They could have added boff upgrades that add space traits and would be desirable in large numbers but no. They could have added in boff upgrade tokens to the dil store but no. It's all a massive mess and it's just compounded by constant events and systems rewarding more dil, constant release to ultra-expensive store items, and no real value or use for dilithium other than swapping for Zen. Likely the only thing people have to do with dilithium once they reach endgame is sticking it on the exchange to turn to Zen.ģ) Even those who are in possession of Zen have no reason to sell it for dilithium anymore, because again they don't need the stuff! So, the supply of Zen available is not increasing equal to the volume of dil being fed in from the other side. Very easy to stock up a massive pile of the stuff in a small amount of time.Ģ) Once you have your main build upgraded and are in a maxed fleet.there's nothing to spend dilithium on! You're still acquiring it at a ridiculous rate but have nothing to spend it on that's worth it. Plus, like you said, some players have mountains of alts farming the stuff because it's so easy to get. ![]() ![]() It's rewarded literally EVERYWHERE in the game and in huge volumes. The dilex is knackered because of a number of reasons I suspect.ġ) There's way too much supply of the pink stuff. On the other hand the last nerf of the KDF and Ferengi grand prizes was pretty soft, so they may fear the number of players that will be angered by changes, so I wouldn't be surprised if they apply another light nerf to the system like reducing the odds of a dilithium-dropping mission appearing to slow the flow rather than nerfing it into the ground, but then again subtlety is not something Cryptic does very well, so there's that. In fairness, the host of alts that some people keep for no other purpose than to farm dilithium from running nothing but admiralty likely is the main culprit behind the huge dilex imbalance. I've never been very aggressive about doing doff and admiralty missions, but at least that would only impact the admiralty side game and not the core game. Borticus recently asked a question about it on Twitter and everyone thinks he's got it in his sights for something, most likely a dilithium nerf is the conclusion being drawn.I've seen the same tweet and subsequent speculation. Rumour is that the Admiralty system might be next in line, but we'll see.
